Reagent for RNA preservation and storage in blood samples

Peripheral blood (liquid biopsy) is routinely collected by biobanks for biomarker analysis for scientific research projects, epidemiological studies, and medical applications. The major limitation associated with RNA is the phenomenon of RNA degradation during blood collection and storage.

Rapid addition or the direct withdrawal of blood into RNA preservatives is a major challenge in fieldwork in biomonitoring studies and is not even always possible.

The novel blood stabilizer RNApro stabilizes RNA during phlebotomy and ensures no differences in terms of quantity, quality, and amplifiability of RNA for up to 7 years.
